KEY FACTS
- The economic and service centre of Kayin State, Hpa-An hosts light industries like food processing, garment production and trade. Since 2012, it has been officially recognised as an industrial zone.
- Myawaddy Town is Myanmar’s foremost trading point with Thailand, and the second biggest border trading post in the country.
