GEOGRAPHY AND CLIMATE
Situated in western Myanmar, along the international borders of India and Bangladesh. Chin State’s climate is humid and subtropical.
KEY FACTS
- Chin State’s mountainous terrains poses barriers for development of infrastructure.
- Government efforts with road upgrades in mountainous areas, and renewable energy infrastructure are ongoing but more needs to be done to support agribusinesses and cottage industries like weaving.
- Chin State is the only state in Myanmar with a Christian majority.
- Falam is the official radio language In Chin State.

The Chin State division of DICA welcomes local and international investors to invest in the following sectors:
- Hotel and Tourism Sector (10 projects)
- Electricity & Energy Generation and Distribution Sector (28 projects)
Resources: Soil, water and unskilled and skilled labour
Exemptions and/or benefits: The 38 projects mentioned above enjoy tax exemptions.
