Seeing the potential in Myanmar’s automobile market, Toyota Motor Corp has plans to establish a factory in the Thilawa Special Economic Zone. The Japanese corporation joins a growing number of automakers with factories in the country.
Analysts believe Myanmar’s demand for cars can match neighbouring Thailand’s, where about 1 million automobiles are sold annually. Sales of new units have also doubled in 2018 from 2017, among other signs which indicate a growing market for new vehicles.
